What Your Day Will Look Like (Non-Phone Work)
As a Credentialing Specialist, your day will involve maintaining individual provider files, completing credentialing applications, and ensuring compliance with governmental and commercial payer requirements. You will audit provider information across various systems, follow up with payers, and assist in resolving any credentialing-related issues. Your role is crucial in ensuring that provider data remains current, compliant, and audit-ready across systems.
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Maintain Provider Files: Keep individual provider files updated with necessary information for credentialing applications
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain accurate provider profiles on CAQH, NPPES, and other applicable platforms
- Complete Applications: Submit credentialing applications for commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare payers
- Audit Information: Regularly audit provider information in various systems for accuracy
- Resolve Issues: Assist in identifying and resolving denials or authorization issues related to credentialing
Relevant Experience & Skills Required
- Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Credentialing Experience: Hands-on experience with credentialing and enrollment applications
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of payer and regulatory requirements
- Data Management: Proficient in maintaining provider files and ensuring data accuracy
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with standard office productivity tools and credentialing platforms
Compensation & Benefits
The estimated compensation for this role is $22.00 – $27.00/hr. based on experience.
